The 2011 application deadline has passed. Please check back in spring 2012 when we will open the next round of applications. The 2012 application deadline is August 1st.
What types of projects will be funded?
Public visual art events, for example: exhibitions, events, screenings, performances, festivals, publications and panel discussions, one-time-only or ongoing activities, that happen outside of established not-for-profit arts institutions.
Who can apply?
Visual artists, curators or visual arts groups living and working in Cook County (with a requirement that projects are presented within 50 miles of Cook County). Students, incorporated businesses, and incorporated not-for-profit organizations are not eligible to apply for funding.
Review process
Proposals to Propeller Fund will be reviewed by a panel of jurors made up of five artists and arts professionals currently working in the visual arts field. This panel will make recommendations for the 15 awardees to the threewalls and Gallery 400 administrators based on the strength of the applicant’s excellence, impact of proposed project, and feasibility.
